Privacy in plain language.
Moot is pre-launch. This policy covers the waitlist, community proposals, and pledges people make before the public launch.
Effective July 2026 — will be updated before public launch
What we collect
The basics you choose to give us.
We collect your email address when you join the waitlist, pledge to a community, or ask to confirm a signup.
We store whether you signed up as a member or as a founding creator. If you apply as a creator, we keep the optional details you chose to share.
If you propose a community or pledge to one, we store that proposal or pledge so we can count interest and tell you when it opens.
We also keep basic request metadata, like IP address and timing, to prevent abuse and rate-limit spam.
How we use it
Only for the thing you asked us to do.
We use your email to send the confirmation email you asked for.
We may tell you when Moot opens, or when a community you pledged to opens.
If you applied as a founding creator, we use your details to review that application.
That is the list. We do not use your information for anything else.
What we don't do
No ad business hiding in the footnotes.
We do not sell your data.
We do not use it for ad targeting.
We do not share it with third parties beyond the email delivery provider that sends messages for us.
We do not put tracking pixels in emails.
Your choices
You are not locked in.
Every email has your confirmation link only because you asked us to send it.
If you want your signup deleted, reply to an email from us or email hello@moot.house.
Unconfirmed signups are inert. If you never confirm, we do not treat you as on the waitlist.
